The Merida Initiative
The Merida Initiative
And Other Assorted Government Scams
BY Carl Braun
The Merida Initiative. It reads like the latest Robert Ludlum novel with a title to match. Yet the prolific author, who pens several books per year right from the grave, could not come up with a storyline this duplicitous or a plot this sinister.
The headline February 14th 2008 reads like this:
“Bush Wants a $1.4 Billion Dollar National Security Package to Secure the Border.”
One can almost hear the words “Thank God” escaping from the lips of Americans in coffee shops across America. Floyd looks over at Myrtle and says: “Yup. About time the government did what it said it was going to do!”
But wait…there’s more. “Bush Wants a $1.4 Billion Dollar National Security Package To Secure The Border…of Mexico!
That’s right. He’s cut funding to secure his own border but has deep pockets for our friendly neighbor to the south. This while reducing the US Border Security budget by more than 30% with the same stroke of the pen! How can this be you ask? Didn’t the fearless defender of democracy proclaim that he was the law and order President? Didn’t he stand before you, me and God and swear he would secure our great nation?
Well it seems the same President that asked citizens to be vigilant after 911 and then later called those same patriot’s “vigilante’s”, has also forgotten the protect and defend clause in his oath of office.
The Merida Initiative is real and despite all the claims to the contrary from our Department of State and our beloved Commander in Chief…so is the North American Union.
The plan to secure Mexico’s southern border to create a Hemispheric Security Zone is well underway while 15,000 escapees from the third world invade America each DAY and reign economic and social chaos on our communities.
Need we obtain any more proof that our nation is being led by a rogue government intent on selling our national sovereignty to the lowest bidder for personal and political gain? How many more Americans are going to lose their lives or their livelihoods to Illegal Aliens while the President plays footsy with Felipe Calderon and the rest of the Central American corrupt and murderous despots? Speaking of Calderon, he just finished a whirlwind tour of the United States declaring us all racists and nativists. When the subject of the Merida Initiative came up, Calderon reacted to the possibility that there might be some conditions on the $1.4 billion dollar gift as follows:
“I cannot accept any submission or subordination…Give it to me. And give it to me without conditions!”
OK then. Did our President or Congress for that matter tell ole Felipe where to stick his conditions? No. How is it that Mexico gained so much control over our government? Are we that afraid of a revolution south of our border that we are willing to do anything and give everything, even our sovereignty, to prevent it?
Were we to find a crystal ball and coax a prediction from the orb, I am relatively certain the future would not be bright. Only one of the Presidential candidates is interested in American sovereignty, the rule of law and defending the constitution and it’s not Hillary, Obama or McCain. Ron Paul has been totally ignored by the mainstream media and his own political party; this despite coming in second and third place in numerous State contests. Granted, he hasn’t done a great job of communicating his position to the American people. Why is it that exceptionally bright and stellar communication skills rarely come in the same package? This Presidential election is a mess. You only need look at the CFR dominated media and candidates like Obama and McCain, funded by all the same benefactors like George Soros, to understand what is happening here.
But where is the public outcry? With the exception of a few hardcore patriots dubbed by the media and so-called conservative pundits as “conspiracy theory whack-jobs,” Americans are largely not paying attention. According to the State Department, The Merida Initiative is an anti-drug program aimed at stopping the contraband before it gets to Mexico let alone the United States. What about the drugs grown and manufactured in Mexico? What border initiative will stop them from entering our country? What about the Mexican corruption and crime spilling over our border like the Mexican effluent that pollutes our border rivers and streams.
Recently Dept. of Homeland Security Secretary Chertoff said on the Sean Hannity radio show “We will finish the border fence before the end of President Bush’s term in office.” Of course he didn’t say which border fence and it must not be ours as here it is February and they haven’t actually started it yet! Best guess is we will have a few miles of the 700 mile-long fence along our border constructed in 2008 and that fence will be fabricated from 40 year old well casing pipe, landing mats from the Vietnam War and train rails stamped Carnegie Steel–1918. Honest, you can’t make this stuff up. Who would believe that the richest nation on earth would protect its citizenry with materials nearly 100 years old? It’s true and I have seen it with my own eyes. Maybe, just maybe, it is because they really do not want to secure the border. At least not this one.
But what about the “virtual border fence,” the one exhorted by our fearless leader as a 21st century solution to our border security problem. Well, it seems that $40 million dollars later, Boeing, a company that makes aircraft and not border fences doesn’t think they can actually build a “virtual fence” that works according to a February 7, 2008 article in BusinessWeek. Now, I’m shocked. I mean, an Aircraft company would have been my first choice to build and electronic border fence. Yours?
And why would they build it anyway? US Border Security, that is, a secure border between the US and Mexico, flies in the face of everything this administration and the next stands for. The fix is in and our rogue government is playing a shell game with our future and that of our children. They will tell us anything we want to hear while behind the scenes they are setting the table with enchiladas and tourtière.
Mention the North American Union at a dinner party and eyes roll as they look out the window to see if a black helicopter is hovering overhead. Your friends exchange that knowing look which silently says:
“Here he goes again. Carl is off on his horse chasing windmills. Poor guy. He used to be so sensible. A North American Union? Hemispheric Security Zone? What’s next? This is crazy talk. Jeez. Can someone please pass the Pinot Noir?”
My nephew, a brilliant young doctor asked me why I’m involved in this. Let someone else do it, he said. Yet bring up the subject of his 15 hours per month of pro bono work tending to the ills of illegal aliens and his tone will shift to: “Someone has got to put a stop to this nonsense. It’s crazy!” The brightest among us are not yet connecting the dots.
Our government, despite what they say, is quietly forging ahead with a plan to merge the three nations. They are behind schedule. The CFR called for it by 2010. Better get hopping. Lets’ first set up our real border along Guatemala and Belize. Then lets put the rest of the plan into motion. Here is how I see it coming down.
1. There is an economic crisis. Our currency is devalued to the point of no return. The Federal Reserve and all the experts claim the only way to fix it is with a regional currency. “Look at how much success we had with the Euro!” they will proclaim. “We can get you your house back and help you make those big payments on your “beemer” if you just go along with the plan.” What have you got to lose? Why the pinkish Amero now even looks like the dollar! The greenback is already being phased out. Had you noticed?
2. How can we possibly expect to stay competitive when the newest evil empire, China, can make everything faster and cheaper than we do? The only solution to our dependency on Asian products is to make them here in North America and the only way we can do that is with cheap Mexican labor. This is a National Security Issue of course. The barbarians are at the gate. Or would be if we did in fact have a gate, or a fence, in the first place. We will protect our economy and our people by allowing Juan and Maria to do our dirty work for us. They won’t care. It is better than the squalor they live in today. A permanent worker class. Now that is novel. With the cheap labor and a national highway running south to north across all of New Amexica we can achieve prosperity, security and an environmentally sound continent. Well, that does cover all the bases now doesn’t it? Think I’m crazy? Well just pay a visit to the “Trilateral Advocacy For Efficient, Secure and Environmentally Conscious Trade and Transportation” or NascoCorridor.com. They didn’t just invent this. They are intimately involved with our government to ensure it happens.
3. We will install a puppet government that is beholding to large multinational corporations. Wait a minute. We already have that. But this time we will elect either a liberal that pretends to be conservative or a liberal that is in a fact a Socialist. Either way it’s the same thing. Where have we come from that in a few short months Hillary Clinton will be the most conservative candidate for President? The lines between the Democrats and the Republicans are now so blurred that even they cannot tell which is which.
With these three things in motion, that hum you hear in the distance is not the reverberation from some Art Bell inspired spacecraft invading earth, it is the death knell for the United States of America.
What can you do about it? You can start by passing this article on to everyone you know. Education is the key. You can get involved and put your faith in third party candidates wherever you can. Even, and perhaps most especially if it appears they cannot win. There are more registered Independents in this country than Republicans and Democrats. If they did in fact vote with their minds, for the best candidate and not the one they think will win; then the right candidate will win.
The third largest party in the US is the Constitution Party. Perhaps they will field an alternative candidate. Expect an Independent candidate of note to run this summer. Take a hard look at this prospect. I reject the notion that you must vote for the best of the worst to prevent another candidate from getting in. The party hacks will tell you that by voting third party you are wasting your vote. Candidly I think the exact opposite is true. You are wasting your vote when you cast it for the wrong candidate just because they are a Democrat or a Republican. When did it become more fashionable to be either red or blue rather than red, white and blue. Vote for the best candidate for AMERICA and let the chips fall where they may.
Step boldly outside the confines of either major party. When the smoke blows away and the mirror fogs, the Democrats and Republicans are one in the same; each funded by identical organizations and profiteers who have stacked the deck to ensure that no matter who gets elected, their interests are covered.
And as for the Merida Initiative, we must put a stop to this type of Tom Foolery. We must let Washington know we are on to their game and we are not going to allow it to succeed. It is high time we as Americans take our country back and stop our government from nation building at home and abroad at the expense of the America people. For the country they are constructing bears no resemblance to the one we grew up in and the one our soldiers are dying for. Conspiracy theories? I’ll let you make up your own mind on that. Remember, everything is incremental. The government changes nothing overnight. It is always done a little at time and then one day you wake up…and your rights and maybe even your country…are gone. Now, where did I put my tin foil hat?
